Have you ever found yourself with a cake recipe , but a cake tin of a different size than the one specified? If so, know that it's not necessarily a big problem!

Indeed, adjusting a cooking recipe to the size of your mold is easier than it seems, provided you know the equivalencies.

In cooking, and especially in baking, the size of the cake or loaf pan often affects the baking time and sometimes the proportions. For example, a pan that is too small may cause your batter to overflow, while a pan that is too large will likely flatten your cake!

That's why we've prepared this handy conversion chart that will allow you to adapt to all situations.

Whether you have a round, square, rectangular or even a cake tin, you will find here all the measurements in centimeters and the corresponding volumes in millilitres.

No more risky approximations, it's time for precision!

How do I use this table?

To adapt a recipe: If your mold has a different volume, adjust the quantities proportionally. For example, if the recipe is intended for a 1.9 liter mold and yours is 2.4 liters, multiply the ingredients by 1.26 (2.4 ÷ 1.9).

Regarding baking time: In theory, a smaller pan means a longer baking time, a larger pan means a shorter baking time. Keep an eye on your cake and test it with the tip of a knife.

Thanks to this practical guide, you will be able to easily adapt all your cake recipes or your favorite savory tart and cake recipes.

It doesn't matter what baking molds (cake, pastries, for quiche etc…) you have on hand!
